2002/01/24: Luis Serrano has noted a small typo in the proof to Theorem 9. The second item in the list of elementary symmetric functions appearing at the top of Page 7 should be the sum of all x_ix_j for i different from j; the text has now been corrected. Previously, it appeared as though this function was the sum x_ix_i+1 from i=1..|H|-1.
